TimeOut takes the user to an alternative America in the first half of the 20th century. In this country, instead of money, people began to use time itself. The main character is trying to find a criminal who sells counterfeit “currency” that kills his clients. The title has a distinct visual style. It combines pixel art with modern effects. The camera is located on the side.
In TimeOut, the days of poor people are literally numbered. And the detective hero, whose finances are even worse, has about 5 minutes left to live. He takes on solving the case in order to earn money and live a little longer. In addition to ordinary people, the world is inhabited by large creditors who can lend time, and shadow moneylenders who hunt for debtors.
This is a small indie project that takes half an hour to complete. However, in such a short period of time, the story manages to demonstrate several plot twists to the user. The game can be attributed to adventure. It recreates the atmosphere of noir. Grim Ghoul Protagonistem on the night streets in the rain. He travels through gloomy alleys, cheap bars and dingy hotels in search of a suspect. The detective constantly pushes forward the countdown timer. If it shows “zero”, then the bloodhound will die. The gameplay consists of walking through locations, talking to NPCs, and occasional gunfights with bandits.
