Tales of Berseria is a modern and one of the good representatives of the genre of Japanese role-playing games known as JRPGs. All the traditional attributes of the genre are waiting for you: memorable characters that you fall in love with at the first meeting, a charismatic protagonist (heroine in this case), an interesting and thoughtful plot, a huge number of abilities, as well as a visual style that is a direct reference to Japanese animation.
The plot introduces us to a heroine named Velvet, who in the past experienced a serious shock that changed her life forever. If earlier the girl was generous and kind, now a fire of hatred blazes in her heart. Even three years after the terrible events, she was unable to recover from the terrible tragedy. In order to somehow get distracted and find himself again, Velvet decides to join a group of pirate travelers, and together with them go on an incredible adventure, surf the seas and oceans, explore the islands of the sacred kingdom of Midgand. Despite Tales of Berseria belonging to the JRPG genre, the battles in the game do not take place in a turn-based style, but in real time, which makes what is happening on the screen more like an action slasher. Directly during the battle, you can control only one hero, but during the battle you can switch between characters to use his skills, which, by the way, are different for all heroes.
