Recettear: An Item Shop’s Tale is an economic simulator with Action/RPG elements. Besides being truly unique for its time, this game also has gameplay that will keep you hooked for hours. Graphically, a very interesting attempt at mixing 2D and 3D animation. This may be one of the few examples where such a mixture of styles makes the game memorable and unique.

The essence of Reccetear is built entirely on the story. You (Reset Lemongrass) have to run your shop to pay off a debt to your fairy companion Tia. Thus, the player needs to walk through randomly generated dungeons, collect loot, improve his store and complete a variety of quests to upgrade your heroine. The control system is not very intuitive at first and needs to be adjusted, but after just a couple of hours of playing you become a master of this simple matter.
